About

Laura Solorzano is an architect based in Bogotá, Colombia. A recent graduate of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, she was awarded the university's prize for Best Thesis — a distinction recognizing exceptional research and design in the Faculty of Architecture.

Her thesis explored the relationship between informal urban settlements and public infrastructure, proposing a network of community spaces that respond to the topography and social patterns of Bogotá's hillside neighborhoods. The project combined rigorous site analysis with a material strategy rooted in local construction traditions.

Her work is defined by restraint: clear plans, honest materials, and an attention to how light and structure shape daily experience. She is drawn to projects where architecture can serve as a framework for community — spaces that are purposeful, equitable, and deeply connected to their context.
